Not A Good Start

It has been a rough start for the new administration, appointments that seem to have a hard time understanding tax laws, appointments under investigation who had to resign and appointments who say no thanks because even they find it hard to agree with the Obama plan.

Then this week we for the administration steppingin cowpies one after another.

They were is such a rush to get their “stimulus” bill out the door before it could be scrutinized that they broke their promise to have the public see the $790 billion bill for 48 hours before any vote.

You knew that when even one of their own, Sen. Frank Lautenberg said that none of his Senate colleagues would ‘have the chance’ to read the entire final version of the 1,071-page bill before it comes up for a final vote, you just knew they were hiding something from the people.

So these mental giants we keep re-electing voted on a 1000+ page bill and they do not know what is in it? Now that really is CHANGE, or is it just business as usual?

Then remember when we heard that if the stimulus package were to pass that Caterpillar was going to rehire some of the 22,000 they laid off…..OOPS….

Jim Owens, the CEO of Caterpillar, Inc., said, “I think realistically no. The truth is we’re going to have more layoffs before we start hiring again”

“It is going to take some time before that stimulus bill” means re-hiring, he said.

But then the President told the American people to try and gain support for his pork bill –

“Jim Owens, the CEO of Caterpillar, Inc., said that if Congress passes our plan, this company will be able to rehire some of the folks who were just laid off.”

Now we really can’t say the president was lying, as they will rehire, but you have to admit he did make it sound that passage of the was going to create immediate jobs. More of that new open government we hear so much about.

But a bigger annoyance this week is that the president and the dem leadership keep saying that there are no earmarks in this bill.

There is a little tiny mouse with a longtime political friend who is going to reap the benefits of the economic-stimulus package.

Lawmakers and administration officials divulged on Wednesday that the economic stimulus bill that was finalized behind closed doors in Congress includes $30 million for wetlands restoration that the Obama administration intends to spend in the San Francisco Bay Area to protect, among other things, the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi represents the city of San Francisco and has previously championed preserving the mouse’s habitat in the Bay Area.

But just remember while Nancy Pelosi has spent time ripping on CEO’s for using private jets, the witch of the West and a few close friends jetted off in a private jet for a “mission” to Italy on the tax payers dime. But before she left the dimwit said this gem…..

Barack Obama, in just a few short weeks as President, has passed one of the biggest packages for economic relief in our country’s history. Probably the biggest tax cut for the middle class

Lets take a peek at the HUGE tax cut shall we, “Making Work Pay” tax credit of $400 for single filers earning up to $100,000 and $800 for couples earning up to $200,000.

It has been only three weeks and they have broken promises, have ended bipartisanship and showed the American people there is a new game in town, and they really don’t care what the American people think, they have an agenda to get completed and only two years to accomplish it.
