Looking For Love
But he did not find a lot the other day.
Obama stopped by the Marine Corps base in Hawaii Kaneche Bay where servicemen were eating Christmas dinner in Kailua.
“Just wanted to say hi, hey guys,” Obama said as he walked in.
The diners represented seven military units — Marine and Navy — some of whom were joined by their families for Christmas dinner.
As Obama entered the room, it was absent of the regular fanfare of cheering and clapping. The diners were polite, staying seated at their respective tables and waited for Obama to come to them to stand up.
Now this could just be because he is not president yet so they did not feel the need to go out of their way to welcome him. Must have been a bit uncomfortable for the man who searches out admiration to reinforce how important he is.
It was a little bit different when President Bush visited the troops in Iraq. Once Obama is president and actually accomplished something he will receive the same reception. The troops like most Americans just don’t know who Obama is or what he stands for, he was elected by the media in this country and now we all must wait to see if he is a leader.
