Conservatism From The Midwest

The Pope and Ted

Many liberal blogs are having a meltdown because Pope Benedict has not acknowledge the passing of a man who was an adulteress, a murder and supported the killing of innocent babies. The Pope gracefully accepted a letter from President Obama from Mr Kennedy, but for him to take time to recognize a man whose life was spent going against the Church would be a mistake. If the letter asked for forgiveness for his allowing a young lady to drown or for his support of abortion, it would be one thing, but this man had little conscience and did not feel remorse for what he did to so many innocent lives.

People will always try and destroy the Catholic Church, they will never succeed, the Church has the strength of God and the truth on it’s side, something that will always win over evil.

The final decision on Mr Kennedy’s final journey is now in the hands of God, let us pray that all of the babies he has allowed to be murdered and Mary Jo Kopechne

She Is Such A Joke

The Joker

The Joker

It is shocking that the Pope is going to take the time to meet with the old battle axe Pelosi! Why would he meet with a person who thinks killing babies is ok? I can only hope the reason he is giving her any time is that he will tell her how wrong she is and that she is a disgrace to the Catholic religion.

Pelosi attempted to offer a justification for why Catholics could support abortion and remain in good standing with the Church by giving a convoluted explanation based on misquotes of Sts. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas on “Meet the Press.”

Pelosi’s pretention at reinterpreting Catholic moral and theological teaching elicited strong criticism from more than 20 U.S. cardinals, archbishops and bishops.

More recently, Nancy Pelosi was strongly criticized for defending the insertion of millions in spending on contraceptives into the stimulus bill. Pelosi, who says she is an “ardent Catholic,” told ABC’s This Week that the money spent on family planning services would “reduce costs.”

This women is a disgrace and for her to go see the Pope is nothing more than a photo-op that she will use when she needs to run again to justify her immoral believes.

One More Time

There is a little group in Madison WI called the Freedom From Religion Foundation. They are always looking for ways to take religion out of the main stream and bring their intolerant lifestyle to the forefront. If you have ever heard the co-president of this fringe group Annie Laurie Gaylor speak, you would have to wonder how they ever get anything accomplished, not a real bright bulb there.

Well they are at it again in the state of Wisconsin. One student has complained that there is no school scheduled at the technical college he or she attends on Good Friday but yet had to attend school on MLK day. Most of Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges had class today, yet nearly 90 percent won’t have class on the Friday before Easter. This has put the Freedom From Religion Foundation taking action. Gaylord cites a 1996 court ruling declaring Good Friday a state holiday unconstitutional.

It amazes me that they get away with this time after time but this time the reason was not because of religion but because one day was not being recognized.

Just sad what people like Gaylord and her ilk are doing to a once proud country. Instead of working to get the MLH holiday recognized by the schools they will just find an excuse to attack religion one more time.

The Pope

As a Catholic I am thrilled that my Pope Benedict XVI is here visiting this country. I was happy he made such a bold and positive statement on the small minority of priest who brought disgrace to the Church.

One of the issues he addressed while here was immigration.

The Holy Father said he would be raising the issue of immigration reform with President Bush and would urge him to push for granting legal status to the illegal immigrants living in the US.

We do need immigration reform, we do need to deal with the 12,000,000 illegals who are now here. We need to deal with the stopping the flow of these illegals into the states.

What we need to do is start hitting the employers with huge fines, stop the anchor baby program, stop providing reasons for them to flow into this country.

As for the 12,000,000 here as long as they are working, or in school lets work with getting them status as citizens. If they have any type of criminal record, are nor productive in any shape or form, we need to look at returning them to country of origin.

This is a country of immigrants and immigration is still an important part, but we need to have some type of control of who and the numbers that flow into America.

No Shame

“The first news most Americans heard this morning was the announcement that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after his 15-month battle with brain cancer,” conservative Gary Bauer wrote this week. “The second thing most Americans heard was a shameless attempt by Big Media 'talking heads' and liberal politicians to exploit his death by suggesting that America should honor the senator by stopping the debate and passing ‘health care reform

Stimulus

"Not only has the stimulus not worked and the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America. The national energy tax that went through this House last month will cause millions of Americans to lose their jobs over the next 10 years, at 2.5 million per year. And we're debating the health care plan, the government takeover of health care, which according to the Presidents council of economic advisors model will cost five million more Americans their jobs."

Idiot

I just don’t understand how anyone would want to be a Republican. I just can’t figure it. I don’t understand. If you’re poor, if you’re any kind of minority - gay, black, Latino, anything. If you’re not a rich - I don’t know. If you’re not a rich born-again-Christian, I don’t get it.

Be Proud

“I wish that some in the media would keep things like that in perspective, what is really important in our country. And what is important is our freedoms, America’s security, our liberty. Let us continue to love our country, be proud of our country, never apologize for our country.”

Apologize?

We never need to fear that though we're not a perfect nation, that we must apologize for being proud of ourselves.

Common Sense

Of course, Obama attended a black supremacist church for twenty years, and referred to his grandmother as “a typical white woman,” and wrote a book with the word “race” in the title – which no politically ambitious white writer could ever get away with. But that’s not “racist” or anything. -Kathy Shaidle
