Conservatism From The Midwest

A Change May Come

Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court just may finally end the discriminatory practise that has been played out for a number of years. Today the Supreme Court ruled against the practice of hiring because of race.

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race. But as we often find out with the Supreme Court they really don’t understand what they are so often ruling on.

For example in dissent, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said the white firefighters “understandably attract this court’s sympathy. But they had no vested right to promotion. Nor have other persons received promotions in preference to them.”

This was not about vested right but DISCRIMINATION, but the good judge could not comment on that because then that means she would have to admit that there has been discrimination against whites for all of these years and that would look poorly for her and the other liberal judges who have supported reverse discrimination for all of these years.

The other newsworthy item is that this decision is reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge.  Just one more reason that America needs to elect conservatives back into DC in 2010 and especially 2012, as liberals do not rule by the facts of the law but solely on ideology.

Most Transparent Administration

Remember how President Barack Obama said this was going to be the most transparent administration, I guess he meant as long as you can see through the walls they have put up.

So far everything this administration has done has been done behind close doors and secrecy and it continues this week.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) will not give the public a week to review the final text of a health-care reform bill before it is voted on later this year.Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

This administration has stumbled. bumbled and lied since January and they really think the American people are just going to sit back and accept it. They need to start becoming accountable for the damage they are causing to this country, they need to start being open and honest with the American people. They need to start acting like leaders and not dictators.

This Tells You All You Need To Know

SO how good will the National Heath Care Plan of Obamas actually be…….this should tell you….

Dr. Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist at the New York University Langone Medical Center, challenged Obama: What if the president’s wife and daughters got sick? Would Obama promise that they would get only the services allowed under a new government insurance plan he’s proposing. Obama wouldn’t bite.

If “it’s my family member, if it’s my wife, if it’s my children, if it’s my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care,” Obama said.

Notice he did not say he would use it because he knows it will be GARBAGE.

Let’s Take The Progressive Approach

North Korea threatened Wednesday to wipe the United States off the map as Washington and its allies watched for signs the regime will launch a series of missiles in the coming days.

And the progressive approach is let’s see if they really do it and then we will run to the UN……..a few thousand American lives will be acceptable as long as we do not harm any North Korean innocents……at least that is the progressive way.

One More Broken Promise

Oct 27 2007 - “I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank. …” Barack Obama

No Shame

“The first news most Americans heard this morning was the announcement that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after his 15-month battle with brain cancer,” conservative Gary Bauer wrote this week. “The second thing most Americans heard was a shameless attempt by Big Media 'talking heads' and liberal politicians to exploit his death by suggesting that America should honor the senator by stopping the debate and passing ‘health care reform

Destruction

If Al Qaeda wants to demolish the America we know and love, they'd better hurry because Obama's beating them to it.

You Better Listen Democrats

"One day, God's gonna stand before you, and he's gonna judge you and the rest of your damn cronies up on the Hill -- and then you will get your just desserts." - From Sen. Arlen Specter town hall meeting

Stimulus

"Not only has the stimulus not worked and the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America. The national energy tax that went through this House last month will cause millions of Americans to lose their jobs over the next 10 years, at 2.5 million per year. And we're debating the health care plan, the government takeover of health care, which according to the Presidents council of economic advisors model will cost five million more Americans their jobs."
John Boehner

Idiot

I just don’t understand how anyone would want to be a Republican. I just can’t figure it. I don’t understand. If you’re poor, if you’re any kind of minority - gay, black, Latino, anything. If you’re not a rich - I don’t know. If you’re not a rich born-again-Christian, I don’t get it.

Be Proud

“I wish that some in the media would keep things like that in perspective, what is really important in our country. And what is important is our freedoms, America’s security, our liberty. Let us continue to love our country, be proud of our country, never apologize for our country.”
- Sarah Palin

Apologize?

We never need to fear that though we're not a perfect nation, that we must apologize for being proud of ourselves.

Common Sense

Of course, Obama attended a black supremacist church for twenty years, and referred to his grandmother as “a typical white woman,” and wrote a book with the word “race” in the title – which no politically ambitious white writer could ever get away with. But that’s not “racist” or anything. -Kathy Shaidle
