Conservatism From The Midwest

The Boycott

It has been a great summer so far, so blogging has not been a real priority for me. But every once in a while something comes along that will catch my eye, This time it’s the far left extremist hard at it again going after FOX NEWS.

I am always amazed that a cable news network can produce such fear in people that they write books, produce movies and have endless blogs attacking it. The paranoia that these people live with is amazing, for some reason they think FOX NEWS has some kind of special powers. They cry that FOX is not really fair and balanced, that they lean way to conservative, but yet they don’t squawk about networks like CNN or MSNBC that feature far left loons like the one pictured at the right.

So what are the kooks on the left up to this time? A BOYCOTT! Yep groups like the far left hate site dailykos, moveon and some left wing progressive group called Campaign for Americas Future are now singing up people to watch FOX, build a database and then start a campaign of harassing these sponsors until they stop advertising on FOX.

It’s laugahable! While maybe these extremist groups can intimidate the Democrat presidential candidates and keep them from partaking in FOX debates, do they really think sponsors are going to run away from a network that produces an audience for them? Where do they think they will go, MSNBC, with their 200,000 viewers, or maybe they will advertise on the DEADAIR America radio network?

They call themselves progressives, but they are nothing more than thugs, intimidators and little children. Good luck with this idea, just like your progressive talk radio network that no one cared about this too will be one more laughable flop.

From The Lazy Susan

This weeks selection from the lazy Susan is a cornucopia of fun!

Right now there is a big push from the left to bring government run health care to the United States. Is there problems with the current system, sure is, cost is one of the biggest. Prescription drugs, the cost to see a doctor, a stay in the hospital can be a huge pain even for those with insurance, but makes it even more difficult for people without insurance and limited income. So do we need to revamp the whole system, of course not, unless you are a Democrat, then the feel it’s the only solution. But I believe all you have to do is look at the current problems with the VA system for medical care, remember Walter Reed from earlier in the year? That should be enough to scare anyone with a wish for government run health care. The Hillary Clinton/Michael Moore health care plan is not in the best interest of America or it’s people.

Speaking of Mike Moore, did anyone see his meltdown on CNN this past week? Here is a guy who makes sure he goes on progressive liberal friendly news shows. He went on Wolf Blitzers show and ol’ Wolf played a clip of a doctor panning Sicko, it was not what Moore was expecting from CNN and he went off on Wolf. CNN Medical expert Sanjay Gupta said “There’s no perfect system anywhere, no matter how much Moore fudged the facts, and he did fudge some facts”.

Mike came on the air and had his typical meltdown when people don’t kiss his ass. “That report was so biased I can’t imagine what pharmaceutical company ad is coming up right after our break here. … I wish CNN and other mainstream media would just for once tell the truth about what is going on in this country.”

While Mike is correct that other developed nations such as France and Canada have universal health care, and he likes to point out that such health care is largely free, he fails to address the fact, that while patients may not pay for services at the doctor’s office, they pay high taxes to fund such a system.

It was a great moment watching him implode.

Once again we have special accommodations being made for Muslims in the public school system in this country and the ACLU has turned their back on it.

Recently we had a University in Michigan used public funding to create foot washes for Muslims so they could wash their feet before they prayed. Well there is now a school in San Diego that has established prayer time for Muslim girls doing school hours. What happens is after lunch, a class room door is shut, the blinds are pulled, an American flag is rolled up and girls in Muslim garb are led (by a teacher’s aide) in prayer to Allah, for an hour.

Wonder how the ACLU would react if a parent requested Holy Water be made available for students who want to pray?

A Few Comments

Hope everyone had a safe but fun 4th of July, thanks to the men and women of the armed services who help ensure that freedom.

It’s been a few days since I have blogged, been busy with real world issues, but today I have a little time to get a few things off my chest.

Happily the Kennedy/Bush amnesty bill has finally died. It’s hard to believe that the bozos that are sitting in DC are not listening to the American people, people who do not want amnesty, who do not want a flood of millions of more family members to influx into this country. For conservatives, the Presidents action on this bill will be the legacy he is remembered for, for him to support blanket amnesty is a slap in the face to the conservatives who have supported him for two terms. His failure to protect our borders, is a glaring fault that cannot be ignored. While many on the left and who suffer from BDS will point to Iraq, which in all honesty has not worked out very well for him also, the border is the most important issue facing America, and the President and the rest of the DC politicians don’t really care.

One of the funnier moments was the Scooter Libby issue. The president communicated his sentence, that does not mean he was not guilty, that he still must pay his fine, which he has, he will still have to be on parole and finally he will still have a criminal record. But the left went bonkers, all the typical players came out of the woodwork to condemn what was done, but the one that made me laugh the hardest was Hillary Clinton have a hissey fit about it. I guess she has forgotten that her on again off again husband pardoned 211 criminals in his last week in office which included 149 on his final day. Here is a little help for you Hillary, the president just set it so Scooter did not have to serve prison time, while your husband allowed hundreds of criminals to go free.

And finally we have another saga in probably one of the worse presidential candidates in a long time, John Edwards, while he provides daily laughs it’s hard to believe he is still in the race. This is a man who speaks of two Americas, a man who have a house the size of a small state, a man who gets paid $75,000 to give a talk on poverty and a man who has new fear of paying his next mortgage payment as he spends $400 on haircuts. But what is really funny about this man is that he talks of two Americas, what does he really know about the other one? How can someone who has his hair stylist fly somewhere on the campaign trail to meet his client, charging $300 to $500 for each cut, plus the cost of airfare and hotels when he had to travel outside California. One even cost $1,250 because he traveled to Atlanta and lost two days of work. John working Americans don’t relate to you and we know that there is no way you can relate to us.

One More Broken Promise

Oct 27 2007 - “I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank. …” Barack Obama

No Shame

“The first news most Americans heard this morning was the announcement that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after his 15-month battle with brain cancer,” conservative Gary Bauer wrote this week. “The second thing most Americans heard was a shameless attempt by Big Media 'talking heads' and liberal politicians to exploit his death by suggesting that America should honor the senator by stopping the debate and passing ‘health care reform

Destruction

If Al Qaeda wants to demolish the America we know and love, they'd better hurry because Obama's beating them to it.

You Better Listen Democrats

"One day, God's gonna stand before you, and he's gonna judge you and the rest of your damn cronies up on the Hill -- and then you will get your just desserts." - From Sen. Arlen Specter town hall meeting

Stimulus

"Not only has the stimulus not worked and the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America. The national energy tax that went through this House last month will cause millions of Americans to lose their jobs over the next 10 years, at 2.5 million per year. And we're debating the health care plan, the government takeover of health care, which according to the Presidents council of economic advisors model will cost five million more Americans their jobs."
John Boehner

Idiot

I just don’t understand how anyone would want to be a Republican. I just can’t figure it. I don’t understand. If you’re poor, if you’re any kind of minority - gay, black, Latino, anything. If you’re not a rich - I don’t know. If you’re not a rich born-again-Christian, I don’t get it.

Be Proud

“I wish that some in the media would keep things like that in perspective, what is really important in our country. And what is important is our freedoms, America’s security, our liberty. Let us continue to love our country, be proud of our country, never apologize for our country.”
- Sarah Palin

GOP Power Rankings

Here are current odds for the 2012 Republican Primary

Mike Huckabee 5-1
Bobby Jindal 6-1
Tim Pawlenty 12-1

Apologize?

We never need to fear that though we're not a perfect nation, that we must apologize for being proud of ourselves.

Common Sense

Of course, Obama attended a black supremacist church for twenty years, and referred to his grandmother as “a typical white woman,” and wrote a book with the word “race” in the title – which no politically ambitious white writer could ever get away with. But that’s not “racist” or anything. -Kathy Shaidle
