Conservatism From The Midwest

One of The Oddities Of The Left

One of the oddest things that I have seen from the left is their obsession with Fox News and talk radio. They spend countless hours blogging about what they have seen on Fox. They write book after book on how unbalanced Fox news is. They have websites that discuss hourly the stories that is covered. I just don’t understand what point they are trying to make.

Are they upset that a large group of people are not getting their news from far left organizations like NPR? Does it bug them that people have seen through the NY Times bully pulpit and now look else where for news? What are they really afraid of? Don’t they understand that they are preaching to the choir, that the people who watch the network really don’t care and they people they target never watch anyway.

Then we have their leadership crying about talk radio and the fcat that their side does not get equal time. They want to bring the fairness doctrine, they want to be able to “balance” what people are listening to. Here is a little idea, provide the talent that can bring your views ands ideas in way that people want to hear it. Do just put a bunch of screaming lunatics like you had an Air America. People listen to conservative radio because it is a message that hits home in the heartland of America.

For some reason the liberals in this country can’t figure that out and the best they can do is blame a TV network and cionservative talk radio for their own failures.

It’s time they look in the mirror, the problem will be staring them in the face.

Why Do We Vote

Looking at today’s political scene one has to wonder, why do we vote? Currently we have politicians in DC who are not listening to the people. America has clearly said they do not want amnesty, but yet the Republicans and Democrats are trying to approve it. The people say we need to secure the borders, but yet the Republicans and Democrats refuse to do it. We have a war on terror, but one side looks upon it as a bumper sticker phrase and the other has lost focus on who we should be fighting. We have one side now trying to get a little revenge for being out of power for a long time, they are nitpicking at issues that only matter to a small base of their people and really does nothing to deal with the problems facing this country.

Today’s Republicans look like Democrats, their spending is out of control, their main goal is to appease certain voter bases, ignoring the people who have elected them. The Democrats are basically being terrorized by far left organizations, groups like Moveon, Democratic Underground and other extremist websites warn Dems that either they get on board with their extreme far left agenda or these groups will work against them. The current elected Democrats are too afraid to stand up to these groups.

We have politicians who have made this their job. How can they represent working America when they themselves have never had to hold a job? We have people who have been in DC for over 40 years, does anyone really believe they represent the American taxpayer? Does anyone really believe that the founding fathers had this as a vision?

Now we have an election coming up for President, and what do we have? Professional millionaire politicians, who are appointed by the their respective parties. The American people are not getting true representation, the special interest groups, big business and the politicians themselves are the ones they represent.

A regular person can no longer run for office. Unless you have party backing your voice will never be heard. The government for the people, of the people and by the people is long gone, all we have left is a small group of people telling us who we can vote for.

Does it really matter any longer if we vote?

Immigraton Amnesty Returns

Once again the immigration bill is back in the news. The Democrats are pushing it because it will play well with their voter base and the Republicans are trying to avoid it because they don’t want to look anti immigration in a election year. The amazing part of this whole issue is that the people in DC are not listening to the American people and what they want. They are listening to special interest groups, big business and the one place that should be on the side of the American people, the White House.

The bill that is out there is wrong. It is wrong not to do something about the borders. It is wrong to give them amnesty ahead of those who have been following the laws to legal immigration. That is the real meat and potatoes of this issue.

We have extremist on both sides of the aisle on this issue. The extreme left what to keep the borders open and allow anyone from anywhere to come here and receive the same treatment and benefits as US citizens. Then you have the extreme right who want to round up 12,000,000 and bus them back to wherever they came from. Both sides are out of touch.

Instead of a 800 page bill, a simpler approach is needed.

· Secure the border, if that means a fence, build it. If it requires more border guards hire them, if that mean National Guard for support provide it.
· Require registration and at that time also provide work visas.
· If they don’t register and are caught working, or breaking the law, deportation or jail time, no second chance
· Make business pay hefty fines who hire illegals

That’s it! Problem solved. But the politicians are not listening to the American people, they are afraid to stand up for America. They are worried they are going to offend people who really have no business in this country. They are afraid they are going to upset the Mexican government. They don’t care that the majority of the American people do not approve of an amnesty program, they are bound and determined to do what they believe is in their best interest, not America’s.

It’s sad that the concern for illegal immigrants overrides the protection of the people who voted them in to serve.

Poor John Edwards

“I don’t know if I know what a rich person is.” — John Edwards

That was his comment form the debate the other night. This poor man is confused as what a rich person is.

Let me help John. When a person owns a home totaling 28,200 square feet of connected space. The main house is 10,400 square feet and has two garages. The recreation building, a red, barn-like building containing 15,600 square feet, is connected to the house by a closed-in and roofed structure of varying widths and elevations that totals 2,200 square feet.

The main house is all on one level except for a 600-square-foot bedroom and bath area above the guest garage.

The recreation building contains a basketball court, a squash court, two stages, a bedroom, kitchen, bathrooms, swimming pool, a four-story tower, and a room designated “John’s Lounge.”

Oh and John if you also own a vacation home that looks something like this, it could be a good hint also.

One More Broken Promise

Oct 27 2007 - “I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank. …” Barack Obama

No Shame

“The first news most Americans heard this morning was the announcement that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after his 15-month battle with brain cancer,” conservative Gary Bauer wrote this week. “The second thing most Americans heard was a shameless attempt by Big Media 'talking heads' and liberal politicians to exploit his death by suggesting that America should honor the senator by stopping the debate and passing ‘health care reform

You Better Listen Democrats

Stimulus

"Not only has the stimulus not worked and the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America. The national energy tax that went through this House last month will cause millions of Americans to lose their jobs over the next 10 years, at 2.5 million per year. And we're debating the health care plan, the government takeover of health care, which according to the Presidents council of economic advisors model will cost five million more Americans their jobs."
John Boehner

Idiot

I just don’t understand how anyone would want to be a Republican. I just can’t figure it. I don’t understand. If you’re poor, if you’re any kind of minority - gay, black, Latino, anything. If you’re not a rich - I don’t know. If you’re not a rich born-again-Christian, I don’t get it.

DekeRivers Derangement Count

The MSM media and liberals in general all suffer Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome. They fear this little woman like never before seen. There is a blogger from Madison WI, who has a bad case of SPDS and it's absolutely hysterical to read his post.

Todays latest SPDS attack from ol Deke comes in a praise from a far left magazines review of her book. I guess it just pisses people like Deke off that her book has been so well received even though knuckledraggers like him have TRIED to derail it.

Some of you have asked for his blog address but last thing I will do is direct people to his hateful site. I will suffer for you to read it.

Be Proud

“I wish that some in the media would keep things like that in perspective, what is really important in our country. And what is important is our freedoms, America’s security, our liberty. Let us continue to love our country, be proud of our country, never apologize for our country.”
- Sarah Palin

GOP Power Rankings

Here are current odds for the 2012 Republican Primary

Mitt Romney 4-1
Mike Huckabee 5-1
Bobby Jindal 6-1
Tim Pawlenty 12-1

Apologize?

We never need to fear that though we're not a perfect nation, that we must apologize for being proud of ourselves.

Common Sense

Of course, Obama attended a black supremacist church for twenty years, and referred to his grandmother as “a typical white woman,” and wrote a book with the word “race” in the title – which no politically ambitious white writer could ever get away with. But that’s not “racist” or anything. -Kathy Shaidle
